A Special Event to Raise Awareness for Children’s Mental Health

May 29, 2024 | Coatesville, Event

The Rotary Club of Coatesville, ORION Communities, and renowned author Laura Smith are coming together to host a special event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of acknowledging children’s mental health. Scheduled for Saturday, June 1st, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Coatesville Area Public Library, this event promises to be an enlightening and supportive experience for children aged 8 and up.

Event Highlights:

  • Free Autographed Books: Each child attending will receive a free autographed copy of Laura Smith’s book, “I Am Loved.”
  • Interactive Readings: The event will feature readings by Rotarian Ryan Igbanol and Laura Smith herself. Smith will read from her book, “You’ve Got Dragons,” which helps children understand and manage their fears and anxieties, and “I Am Loved,” which addresses making mistakes and problem-solving.
  • Snacks: Delicious snacks will be served during the event.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for parents and children to learn about mental health in an engaging and supportive environment. It emphasizes the importance of understanding children’s feelings early on, rather than waiting until they become teens. The books and discussions will provide valuable insights and coping strategies for children facing various fears and anxieties.

Registration Information:

To ensure a spot, parents are encouraged to register their children at coatesvillelibrary.org or call 610-384-4115. Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
